Description:

After the successful conversion of Unit 2, Open Contracts were re-appointed by USS to similarly divide Unit 1 into two smaller units and refurbish.

Scope:

Asbestos containing materials were carefully removed from site before other works commenced. The existing 2 storey office accommodation located within the unit was demolished and block work and stud partition walls were used to create Units A and B. Two new entrances were created and glazed screens were installed to both units.

As with Unit 2 (A, B & C) gas, water, electricity, foul drainage and surface drainage services had to be organised for each of the units.

We carried out significant roof repairs including the installation of new double skinned acrylic roof lights. Tarmacadam and concrete hard stands were laid externally, incorporating an Aco-Drainage system. As with Unit 2, road markings outside the building were altered to suit the changes made. The rear cladding was re-coated and the front elevation was fitted with new cladding.

A bike shelter was installed to the left of the building as per building permission specifications.
