Description:

The existing reception area was disappointingly small in relation to the site and stature of the building, so our client appointed DMFK Architects to completely redesign it.

Scope:

The works commenced with a strip out back to shell and complex services diversion package. A significant quantity of reinforced concrete walls and floor slab were removed and new structural walls, staircase and floor slab provided. When the slab was completed, the reception was fitted out in a classic architectural palette of terrazzo, plaster and bronze metalwork.

New bronze windows and doors were provided to the external with Portland stone and brickwork detailing.

The WC’s to the ground, 1st and 2nd floors were comprehensively refurbished as part of the overall scheme.

The project was made more challenging as the building was fully occupied and works had to be carried out with considerate liaison with the occupiers.

This project has been one of the most complicated and challenging that Open Contracts have completed to date, but one that we are delighted to have been involved.
