Open Contracts were involved in the extensive refurbishment of Forbury Court, Reading. The 20,000 sq ft of works is subject to a Sustainability plan for a BREEAM rating when all of the works at Forbury are completed.
Works commenced with the strip out of the 2nd and 4th floors plus WC’s to their core. A new raised access floor was installed, along with new concrete sinks, sanitary ware and tiling to the WC areas. A VRV air conditioning system was installed along with new exposed LED lighting on the cleaned up concrete slab. Feature mesh panels were added to the ceiling and then the space was decorated.
The reception area was also stripped back to shell and new VRV and LED lighting added.Feature mesh panels, a new pink resin floor and joinery completed the area.A disabled WC and new shower facility were created in the area.
Externally the front of the building was rendered and decorated. Specialist vintage, reclaimed lighting was installed to the front of the building. Feature metal work was added to the gate. The car park was redecorated along with new lighting. On the fifth floor a roof terrace was created with decking and balustrades.
